Unleashing the Power of AI: My Journey with Microsoft 365 Copilot

I remember getting a call from my close friend Richie in February 2023. "Anouk, I have to show you something called ChatGPT. It will change your life," he said with excitement. As a typical Torontonian who runs at a million miles an hour, I reluctantly took 30 minutes for him to walk me through it. Let's just say that those 30 minutes were the beginning of a profound transformation in the way I worked. 

I started using ChatGPT to help me with the tone of my emails, formatting, and layout. It was saving me lots of time. Fast forward, and I left the role I was in and was invited by TECHIFY to host their AI Summit at Microsoft Head Office. I graciously accepted this beautiful opportunity and left as transformed as the attendees. I realized that while I was using my newfound superpower, I was also using ChatGPT in an unsafe way. The information I put into it was being used for large language models, which meant it was leaking intellectual data. 

That's when I discovered Microsoft 365 Copilot. I could get all the amazing benefits of AI with Copilot, which tied into my own data and 365 environments. Copilot provided security and compliance benefits that ChatGPT couldn't. It was my little sidekick that didn't take smoke breaks or sleep. It used the data I provided it with, personalizing everything I was using it for. 

I use Copilot across different applications in Microsoft 365, making my workflow seamless and efficient. Whether it's drafting emails in Outlook, creating presentations in PowerPoint, or analyzing data in Excel, Copilot is there to assist me. It helps me stay organized in OneNote, manage my tasks in Planner, and even collaborate with my team in Teams. The integration across these applications ensures that I have a consistent and productive experience, no matter what task I'm working on. 

Copilot's security and compliance features are top-notch. It operates under a zero-trust policy, ensuring that all data interactions are secure and verified. All data processed by Copilot is encrypted, protecting sensitive information within our organization. Copilot adheres to strict data privacy standards, ensuring that no data is shared with external entities or the web. Additionally, it complies with our Responsible Use of AI Policy, ensuring ethical standards, data privacy, and transparency.
